Invokana has been linked to amputations and ketoacidosis
Our Ohio product liability attorneys are currently taking on Invokana claims related to amputations and ketoacidosis, which have been linked to the drug.
Invokana (canagliflozin) is a prescription drug used to treat type-2 diabetes. It was approved by the FDA in 2013 and developed by Janssen Pharmaceuticals. In May 2015, the FDA issued a safety warning regarding Invokana after receiving reports regarding a number of patients that had developed diabetic ketoacidois after taking the drug. In May 2016, the FDA issued a warning setting forth data that Invokana doubled the risk of leg and foot amputations. A “black box” warning was ordered to be placed on the label of the drug by the FDA in May 2017.
Over 100 Invokana related lawsuits have been centralized in a multi-district litigation proceeding in the U.S. District Court for New Jersey under Judge Brian R. Martinotti. Our product liability lawyers are currently seeking claimants to assist with the filing of lawsuits within this multi-district litigation.
If you have taken Invokana, and thereafter, suffered from ketoacidosis or have undergone an amputation, please contact one of our experienced defective drug lawyers today to discuss whether you have a case.
